Looking forward to 2014 global trade

ASL’s Joanna Oliver MBE, works as the Director of Global Programmes for ASL’s major client, the Construction Equipment Association (CEA). Joanna works closely with the UK Government’s department of trade, BIS and the Government’s exporting arm, UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) on export strategy and funding for exporters.

In 2013 Joanna organised and led trade missions to India, Saudi Arabia, Mongolia and Brazil and UK Pavilions at exhibitions in India, Germany and South Africa. She has just made her first scoping visit to Chile and hopes to return in 2014 with a trade mission. Plans for 2014 include scoping visits to Burma, Libya and Indonesia and repeat missions to Mongolia, Brazil and Saudi Arabia. These events have generated many millions of pounds worth of orders for UK participants, the Mongolia mission alone saw orders of almost £10 million.

UK companies participating in CEA run missions and UK Pavilions receive UKTI grant support of up to £3,000. Even companies who are not CEA members can join in at an extra cost. Full details and mission / market reports can be found on the CEA’s web site: www.coneq.org.uk
